• Ophthalmic Surgical Procedures, 2nd edition has been published by Thieme Medical Publishes, Inc of New York with Dr. Levin as Section Editor and Sole Author of Section VII Oculoplastics.

• Once again, Dr. Levin and his facility has received a three year accreditation (the longest period offered) by the Institute of Medical Quality, a division of the California Medical Association.

IMQ’s Ambulatory Program accredits a wide range of entities, including ambulatory surgery centers, student health centers, occupational health centers, medical offices/medical groups and other outpatient settings.

Effective in 1996 with the passage of AB595, any setting, ranging from solo or small group practices to large multi-service ambulatory centers, administering anesthesia “in doses that have the probability of placing a patient at risk for loss of the patient’s life-preserving protective reflexes” must be accredited by a recognized accreditation entity, licensed by the Department of Health Services or obtain Medicare certification. IMQ’s Ambulatory Program is recognized by the Medical Board of California.
